Gemstone (also called as gem, jewel, precious stone or semiprecious stone) refers to natural gemstones and manufactured stones.

Synthetic Gemstones are man-made crystals designed to look like natural gemstones. They often share the same chemical, optical, and physical traits as their natural counterparts.

Assembled Gemstones are made by combining two or more materials to create the look of a gemstone. These materials can be natural, man-made, or a mix of both.

Imitation Stones are created to mimic the look and color of real gemstones but don’t have the same chemical or physical properties.

  • Five Key Guidelines for Gemstone Product Titles:

    1. For natural gemstones with natural color, include the word "Natural" in the title.
    2. For natural gemstones with treated color, include "Natural" along with terms like "Dyed", "Dyed & Heated", or "Electroplated" in the title.
    3. For synthetic gemstones, include the word "Synthetic" in the title.
    4. For assembled gemstones, include the word "Assembled" in the title.
    5. For imitation gemstones, specify both the original material and the imitation stone in the title.
  • Bead Sizes

These gemstones are made from natural minerals, so it’s normal for them to have tiny imperfections. Cutting and polishing can also lead to slight size variations, especially between different batches.

Typically, bead sizes vary within 0.2mm to 0.75mm of the stated size, and bead hole sizes may differ by up to 0.2mm. For example, an 8mm bead strand may include beads ranging from 7.8mm to 8.75mm, with some beads measuring 8mm, 8.2mm, or 8.5mm. Similarly, a bead hole listed as 1mm may actually range from 0.8mm to 1.2mm. These small differences are generally not noticeable to the naked eye

  • Enhancements

Dyed: Gemstones are treated with color-enhancing substances, like dyes or colored oils, to improve or change their color. This method is often used for Dyed Jade.

Dyed & Heated: A combination of dyeing and heating is used to enhance or alter a gemstone’s color. Common examples include Red Agate, Black Agate, and Red Tiger Eye.

Electroplated: A thin metallic coating is applied to the gemstone's surface to change its color or add a shiny luster. Examples include Electroplated Quartz Crystal and Electroplated Lava Rock.

Caring for Your Gemstone Beads

Avoid Chemicals: Keep beads away from strong acids, alkalis, and other corrosive substances. Apply perfume or sprays before wearing jewelry and ensure they are completely dry.

Prevent Physical Damage: Store beads separately to avoid scratches or collisions. Remove jewelry during physical activities or housework to prevent damage from impact or pressure.

Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Keep beads in a cool, shaded place to protect them from UV damage or fading. Aim for temperatures between 18–24°C and humidity levels of 40–60%.

Regular Inspection: Check stringing materials regularly for signs of wear, fading, or damage.

Clean Regularly: Clean beads to remove dirt and oils that can dull their shine.
